Jamie Offenbach’s defining character portrayals and vocal strength in both buffo and dramatic repertoire earn him rave reviews with journalists, opera companies and audiences alike. He has performed signature roles at companies that include Los Angeles Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Baltimore Opera, Nashville Opera, Hawaii Opera, Michigan Opera, San Diego Opera, Opera Pacific, Arizona Opera, Opera Carolina, Florentine Opera Company, Dallas Opera, Colorado Opera Festival, Opera Colorado, Pittsburgh Opera, Kentucky Opera, Santa Barbara Grand Opera, and the Savonlinna Music Festival.

He appeared as T.J. Rigg in Florentine Opera’s production of Elmer Gantry. The recording of Elmer Gantry was awarded two Grammys in February 2012. and was named #1 on Opera News' Top 10 list of complete Opera recordings for 2011. Current and upcoming engagements include Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus with Hawaii Opera Theater, Capulet in Romeo et Juliette with Arizona Opera, Mephistopheles in Faust with Austin Lyric Opera, Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd with Syracuse Opera, and Superintendent Budd in Albert Herring with Florentine Opera of Milwaukee.

Most recent engagements include Mephistopheles in Faust with Hawaii Opera Theater, Opera Coeur d’Alene, and with the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver; First Soldier in Salome and Sciarrone/Angelotti in Tosca with San Diego Opera; Dr. Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro with Santa Barbara Grand Opera; Dr. Grenvil in La Traviata, The Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlo, and Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Hawaii Opera Theater; Capellio in I Capuletti ed I Montecchi and Angelotti in Tosca with Florentine Opera of Milwaukee; Zuniga in Carmen at Opera Santa Barbara Opera, King in Aida with Baltimore Opera; and Dr. Engle in The Student Prince with Nashville Opera.

 Mr. Offenbach has appeared as a featured soloist in concert with the Honolulu Symphony, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Colorado Springs Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, New York Festival of Song, and the Joseph Papp NY Public Theater.

 A native of Honolulu, Mr. Offenbach studied at the University of Hawaii, New York University, and the Juilliard School of Music. In addition to his background in Opera, Mr. Offenbach has performed extensively in musical theater as a dancer and singer in regional, summer stock, Off-Broadway, and National tours. He may be heard on Angel Records’ recording of Gershwin’s Blue Monday as well as on the 2011 Grammy Award-winning Naxos Label recording of Aldridge’s Elmer Gantry.
