Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll see onstage at this weekend’s performances. A few tickets remain for this evening’s performance and tomorrow’s matinee. Call the Pabst Box Office for tickets: (414) 286-3205.

I had the unexpected pleasure of spending part of the first intermission talking with John La Bouchardiere, the director, discussing some of the ways Florentine’s Semele pushed the edges of my expectations. Keeping the house lights up so far into the first act made me squirm and feel naked in the audience, and when the chorus starting chatting among themselves while Semele wigged out at her wedding, I laughed out loud. (That wasn’t the last time, either!)
We brought our kids to this performance, and I’m so glad we did. It was an amazing show, brilliantly staged and completely entertaining.
Congratulations! What a great review. I did not get to see the opera, but watched the You-tube video above. Beautiful.
