Semele
This is a very trying yet very exciting time for all of us – this is of course a nervous period for arts organizations, but also an opportunity to explore new frontiers, and when “responsible creativity” can lead to an even better future.
I think this is particularly true for the Florentine Opera – while we celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we also unveil our first Baroque Opera ever! Handel’s Semele will be a wonderful experience for either the Baroque neophyte or the confirmed Handelian. As we begin our second week of rehearsal, I look forward to adding entries surrounding the rapidly approaching opening night in Milwaukee’s beautiful, historic Pabst Theater.
