News from the Beanstalk – 2/26 Edition

by Florentine Opera

This week’s news from the beanstalk is actually an invitation to join us for a free community performance tomorrow at the Wauwatosa Public Library at 2:30 pm.

If you and your family have not yet had the opportunity to this engaging, 45-minute children’s opera, you won’t want to miss it! The performance is followed by a question and answer session with the performers and accompanist. We hope to see you at the beanstalk tomorrow!

News From the Beanstalk – 2/19 Edition

by Florentine Opera

Welcome to a new series of posts that brings you all the stories heard “through the beanstalk” as our Studio Artists continue to tour Jack and the Beanstalk throughout schools and community venues. Check back each Friday for updates!

This week, Board member Cathy Costantini and her husband Mario relate the reactions of students at HOPE school to a performance and the Q&A session that followed.  By all accounts, the students are on their way to becoming avid opera fans of the future!

“Just saw “Jack” at the HOPE school. The performance was just wonderful and the students loved it.  All the little students came up and gave everyone hugs after the performance.  This was so darn cute that many of us had tears in our eyes (especially me).

Nothing that Florentine does in more important than this…a giant thank you to you and to everyone at the Florentine for putting on these fabulous shows for children.”

~ Mario Costantini

“Just want to tell you how AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC the show was this morning!

I’ve ever seen a more wide-eyed, engaged group of kids before.  And at the end, when Ann asked for questions, every single hand in the room shot up.
The grand finale to the show was when every little child came up and gave hugs to all of the studio artists and Ann, and other Florentine Opera guests.

Not a dry eye in the place!”

~ Cathy Costantini
