FLORENTINE IN THE CITY
Listen to opera in a number of venues throughout the community, enhance your opera experience, and get behind-the-scenes perspectives by attending one of our insightful community engagement programs. Learn little known facts, get hints on what to listen for, and hear tantalizing musical excerpts.
Opera Insights are FREE presentations given by Corliss Phillabaum, Professor of Theater at UW Milwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts at two Milwaukee area locations – the Wauwatosa Public Library (7635 West North Ave. Wauwatosa, WI 53213) and The Wayne & Kristine Lueders Florentine Opera Center (926 E. Burleigh Street Milwaukee, WI 53212). Opera Insights take a closer look at the upcoming opera performance. Each 45-minute program contains a detailed synopsis, background on the opera and live musical selections preformed by the Florentine Opera Studio Artists. Attendees are treated to arias, duets and small ensembles performed by Florentine Opera Chorus members.
