The Florentine Opera's High School Master Class is specifically designed to meet the needs of the gifted young singer, interested in gaining knowledge and pursuing continued education in the vocal arts medium. Our objective is to provide guidance and mentorship while nurturing vocalists with professional experiences. Following an audition process, selected students will receive private vocal coaching's provided by the Florentine Opera Artistic Staff. The program culminates in a two-hour master class led by William Florescu (General Director of the Florentine Opera Company). All students attending the High School Master Class enjoy the opportunity to learn helpful vocal and auditioning techniques, and are encouraged to ask questions and gain insight into the world of vocal performance and opera.
The 2014 High School Master Class Application will be made available for download this summer (2013).
Students must submit application and a written recommendation from private voice teacher and/or choral director. Further written recommendations from high school representatives are welcome. After thorough review of submitted applications, a total of 30 students will be asked to audition for the Master Class program for a panel.
After the audition process is complete, a total of four students will be selected to receive:
- Private vocal coachings provided by the Florentine Opera.
- Select students will perform at the Master Class.
- Additional public performance opportunities with the Florentine Opera.
ALL students are invited to apply and are welcome to attend the Master Class at 2PM on April 14, 2013.
