Opera Inside Out
Suitable for Middle and High School-aged students
This highly interactive program gives Middle and High School students a behind-the-scenes look at all the elements that contribute to producing an opera, and also introduces students to career opportunities on and off the stage. Opera Inside Out is a modular program focusing on a range of areas including stage direction, costumes, make-up, lighting design, props, vocal performance and arts administration. The program culminates with a chance for all participating students to attend one of the Florentine Opera’s mainstage shows.
In spring 2010, high school students from Greendale High School and 8th grade students from Hope Christian School had the opportunity to tour the Lueders Opera Center and participate in a wig and make-up session with Wig & Make-up Designer Dawn Rivard. Students from both schools also had the opportunity to hear from our Studio Artists in residence and talk to them about life as an opera singer.
