A Tale of Epic Adventure
Set sail with this epic maritime adventure on the high seas of Ancient Greece as the Florentine performs Mozart’s beloved first masterpiece.
In this life-and-death drama, Idomeneo, the Cretan king, makes an ill-fated pact with Neptune and is soon confronted with the most dire of consequences.
The director of the Florentine's 2009 smash hit, Semele returns to collaborate on this dynamic new production. The magnificence of Mozart’s glorious melodies will deliver you across the Grecian Seas as tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz (praised for his sultry performance in Rigoletto 2010) returns to the Florentine to sing the title role. Soprano Georgia Jarman (lauded for her ‘luminous, appealing and agile voice’ by the New York Times) also returns, making her role debut as the alluring but jealous Princess Elettra.
Performed in Italian with English supertitles projected above the stage
