A Tale of Epic Adventure

Set sail on an epic operatic adventure to the waters of Ancient Greece as the Florentine presents Mozart's first major opera.

Idomeneo, a powerful Cretan king, makes an ill-fated pact with Neptune, the god of the sea, and is confronted with unforeseen consequences as life-and-death drama gives way to the triumph of love.

The artistic team behind 2009's smash hit production of Semele reunites to create a new production that perfectly complements Mozart's glorious melodies. Tenor Arturo Chacon-Cruz returns to the Florentine to sing the title role on the heels of his audience-pleasing turn as the sultry Duke in Rigoletto (2010). Lauded for her "luminous, appealing and agile" voice by Anthony Tommasini of the New York Times, Georgia Jarman returns to make her role debut as the beautiful but jealous Princess Elettra.

Performed in Italian with English supertitles projected above the stage
