GET OPERA (formerly known as Student Grant Program)
The Florentine Opera is proud to offer high school students the opportunity to witness Wisconsin’s oldest professional arts group. GET OPERA awards opera tickets to high school student groups, enabling them to enhance their learning and attend a live opera.
All high school music teachers in Wisconsin are notified of the program through brochure mailings, however the program is not limited to music students. We encourage all who are interested to apply. For example, a number of high school language, history and English teachers attended operas in the 2006-07 season.
*Applications for the Friday, April 25th performance of Rome & Juliet are now available. Click here to download the application.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS!
A little tight on cash, but still want to go to the opera? Want to impress your boyfriend or girlfriend with your savvy opera knowledge? No problem! The Florentine Opera offers STUDENT RUSH tickets for mainstage performances. These tickets are $15 and go on sale one hour prior to any performance. And remember, “student rush” doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be sitting in the nosebleeds. You get the best seats available at the time of sale – so don’t miss out!
A Teacher’s Voice
The Student Grant Ticket Program has given students here at West Bend High School the opportunity to see something amazing. Since 2000, I have taken 218 students and chaperones to their “first” opera. It has been a thrill for me to see their faces after seeing their first opera. Opera has always been a big part of my life and I am glad to have the opportunity to share this with my orchestra students.
Very sincerely,
Christopher J. Kraly
West Bend High School Orchestra Director

“To hear and see the opera singers perform and to see the highly extravagant sets have been a real blessing and an adventure, and I hope that adventure does continue for generations to come.”
“For me and for many others, the view of the opera was very stereotypical. Only through this opportunity was I allowed to really see what opera and music is all about.”
“With my lifestyle and the way I was brought up I would have never been naturally introduced to the opera. I can replace the movies with the opera, I can relax at the opera, I can get away from the world at the opera.”
