Hailing from Houston, Texas, mezzo-soprano Jessica Blau brings thoughtful and nuanced performances to every company she works with, such as Chicago Summer Opera, Opera in the Ozarks, Alamo City Opera, and the Castleton Festival. Most recently, Ms. Blau has performed as Dorabella in Cosi Fan Tutte, Dolly Oblonsky in Anna Karenina, Nancy, in Albert Herring, and the title role in Carmen. Other favorite roles to perform are Nicklausse (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Meg (Little Women), Hansel (Hansel & Gretel), Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti), and Isabela (la Hija de Rappaccini). Ms. Blau recently completed a Performance Certificate at the University of Houston, where she studied under Melanie Sonnenberg and Buck Ross. She will spend the summer of 2017 performing in Milwaukee with Florentine Opera’s Summer Concert Residency.
