Ashley Puenner, Mezzo-soprano
Ashley Puenner is from Crystal Lake, Illinois and recently earned a Master of Music from the University of Kansas. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Music from Illinois Wesleyan University.
Recent highlights include: Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd, and Carmen in The Tragedy of Carmen; Ashley has also appeared as a soloist in Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and a staged concert version of Bernstein’s Arias and Barcarolles. Pursuing an avid interest in newly composed music, she has premiered works by several composers including Emile Naoumoff and Forrest Pierce, along with commissioning a song cycle by American composer Nathan Jones (Six Qabbani Love Songs).
The 2017-18 season will be Ms. Puenner’s second season with the Florentine Opera Studio Artist Program.
