s Board President Clay Nesler announced at the annual meeting Sept. 24 that the Florentine remains in solid standing at the conclusion of the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

Audiences can enjoy a sneak peek at an entire seasons’ worth of opera on Sunday, September 19 at 2:00 pm at the Florentine's 10-11 Season Sampler. The ticketed event will be held at the Wayne & Kristine Lueders Florentine Opera Center in Riverwest.

Erica Schuller, soprano, Julia Hardin, mezzo soprano, Matthew Richardson, tenor, and Scott Johnson, baritone are named 2010-2011 season Florentine Opera Studio Artists.

Florentine presents an all-new production of Verdi's beloved Rigoletto May 21-23, 2010.

The Florentine Opera holds its annual High School Masterclass on Sunday, April 18 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. The program provides guidance and mentorship while nurturing vocalists with professional experiences.

Florentine Opera Studio Artists will appear at the Florentine Opera Center in Riverwest on April 24 at 7:00 pm in an Opera Scene Showcase

Baritone Keith Phares is the recipient of the Uihlein Artist Fund for the 2009-2010 season. Mr Phares will appear in the title role of Elmer Gantry. Established using a gift by Marie Z. Uihlein, the fund sponsors a singer of superlative quality each season.
