Florentine Opera Studio Artists Present Opera Scene Showcase
One-night-only event on April 9 at 7:00 pm features beloved opera favorites
MILWAUKEE, Wis.—March 22, 2011—The Florentine Opera Company Studio Artists will appear at the Lueders Florentine Opera Center in Riverwest on April 9 at 7:00 pm in an Opera Scene Showcase. Florentine Opera Studio Artists Erica Schuller (soprano), Julia Elise Hardin (mezzo soprano), Matthew Richardson (tenor) and Scott Johnson (baritone) will be accompanied by Yasuko Oura as they re-enact a selection of arias and ensembles from a variety of opera favorites. The 2011 winners of the High School Masterclass will also appear as featured ensemble members.
The performance will include pieces from Britten’s Albert Herring, Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddigore, Flotow’s Martha, Rossini’s The Barber of Seville and Mozart’s Don Giovanni. In addition, the audience will see a selection from Mozart’s Idomeneo, which the Florentine will present in Uihlein Hall at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts on May 18 and 20, 2012, as part of the organization’s 2011-2012 season offerings.
