MILWAUKEE, Wis. - November 15, 2010 - Single tickets for the remaining two productions in the Florentine Opera’s 2010-2011 season of classic opera are now available for purchase. On March 18, 19 & 20, 2011, audiences will enjoy an exotic escape through the delightful melodies of Rossini's charming comedy, The Italian Girl in Algiers. In May 2011, a sumptuous Baroque double-bill of John Blow's Venus & Adonis and Henry Purcell's Dido & Aeneas will bring Milwaukee audiences Florentine Opera production debuts of both the earliest surviving British opera and the first English operatic masterpiece.
From the youthful and exuberant tale of a girl in charge of her own destiny to an alluring world of gods and goddesses, passionate love, and tragic consequences, two grand opportunities remain to experience the Florentine Opera Company's 2010-2011 season.
