Studio Artists Present Opera Scene Showcase

One-night-only event on April 24 at 7:00 pm features beloved opera favorites

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin—March 23 2010—The Florentine Opera Company Studio Artists will appear at the Florentine Opera Center in Riverwest on April 24 at 7:00 pm in an Opera Scene Showcase. Florentine Opera Studio Artists Sarah Lewis Jones (soprano), Julia Elise Hardin (mezzo soprano), Aaron Blankfield (tenor) and Scott Johnson (baritone) will be accompanied by Jamie Johns as they re-enact favorite arias and ensembles by some of opera’s most beloved composers, including Puccini (Madama Butterfly, La Bohéme) Rossini (The Italian Girl in Algiers), Leoncavallo (I Pagliaci), Verdi (La Traviata, Rigoletto), Bizet (Les Pêcheurs de Perles) and Copland (The Tender Land). In addition, those attending will be among the first to hear selections from Río de Sangre, a Spanish world premiere opera presented by the Florentine on October 22, 23 & 24, 2010. The Opera Scene Showcase will be directed by Florentine Opera General Director William Florescu.
