Support the Chorus

Thank you for your support!

We are thrilled to announce that we have officially reached our Spring Appeal fundraising goal of $100,000! This incredible milestone was made possible by a generous $25,000 matching challenge from longtime patrons Mary and Ross Read, combined with the extraordinary, collective generosity of our donor community.  Thanks to you, our stage is full of life and music this season. But our work doesn't stop at the finish line.... now is the time to look ahead. We invite you to keep this amazing momentum going! Your continued support this spring will allow us to far exceed our initial goals, directly fueling the spectacular productions, world-class artists, and vibrant choruses we are preparing for next season. Let’s set the stage for our biggest year yet!

The Voice of Milwaukee Since 1933

In 1933, a group of passionate Italian immigrants gathered in Milwaukee with a singular vision: to bring the grandeur of the Italian opera tradition to their new home. They didn't just build a company; they built a community.

For 93 years, the Florentine Opera Chorus has been the "heartbeat" of the Florentine. They are the villagers, the soldiers, the revelers, and the tragic witnesses. They are the wall of sound that gives you goosebumps during a Verdi masterpiece and the quiet harmony that breaks your heart in a Puccini aria.

But beyond the stage, our chorus members are your neighbors. They are teachers, doctors, students, and retirees who dedicate hundreds of hours to perfecting a craft that connects us to our past and carries us into our future.

The Goal: $100,000 for the Next Generation

  • Artist Sustainability: Compensation for local choristers.

  • Legacy Preservation: Supporting a rich history of Milwaukee singers.

  • Musical Excellence: Investing in rehearsal and preparation.
